About the Winery

Located just 15 miles north of our nation’s capital, the Great Shoals Winery tasting room offers a unique experience for wine and cider lovers in the metro area. The tasting room is located inside the market at Heyser Farms, a family farm that has been in business since 1946. Visitors can browse local fruits, veggies, dairy, meat, and fresh baked goods in the market, and our outdoor seating offers views of the farm’s apple orchard. Visitors can choose between traditional wine, hard cider, sparkling wine, or combination flights. We also offer several packages that include cheese plates, chocolate fondue, and souvenir wine glasses. Additionally, packed picnics are encouraged; we have several outdoor picnic tables for visitors who wish to enjoy glasses or a bottle onsite. We offer a wide variety of products in our tasting room, and strive to have something for every palette. Stop by Monday- Friday from 11am-6pm, and Saturday from 10am-6pm; and don’t forget your MD Wine passport!

About the Winery

Rocklands Farm is 34 scenic acres located on a historical property in Montgomery County, Maryland, thirty minutes from Washington DC. It is one of the first farms within the south-eastern corner of Montgomery County’s Agriculture Reserve, adjacent to Seneca Creek State Park and the Potomac River, and is conveniently located just off River Road, a main road from the metropolitan area used by destination seekers of open space and scenic farmland. We are a working, diverse farm that seeks to steward the land so that others can best enjoy its fruit and beauty. When visiting the farm, you'll notice our vineyards, but also an organic market garden and rolling pasture for our animals. We currently operate our winery out of a c.1870 stone cellar producing and bottling wines from our estate vineyards as well as partnering with other Maryland vineyards for the highest-quality grape supply. Come on out to the farm for a tasting and enjoy a glass of wine as you tour through our vineyards. You can also pick up pasture-raised meats, fruit, and veggies and our market.
