- There are 61 wineries licensed in Maryland.
- Boordy Vineyards is Maryland’s oldest winery (1945); Crow Vineyards is the newest winery in Maryland open to the public (2012).
- The East Coast's wine industries share similar climate and latitude of many of Europe's historic winegrowing regions (MD is 39ºN, as are Portugal, Spain, Southern Italy and Greece).

- Maryland’s wineries produce over 420 different wines.
- Maryland wine is sold at more than 800 retailers and is served at over 300 restaurants.
